A clear balance, billed by the minute

All prices are on the pricing page. Here is how top-up and billing work today.

Top up your balance

  1. Ask for a top-up code at [email protected].
  2. In the app open “Wallet” and enter it under “Top-up code”.
  3. Card payment is not live yet; we will announce it here.1

How time is billed

  • $0.05 an hour, charged per started minute.2
  • Starting needs two minutes of balance; the session ends if it runs out.3
  • Without a plan, one paid computer runs at a time.4
  • A one-time $0.50 welcome credit for every new account.5

Monthly plans

  • A plan is paid from your balance, lasts 30 days and includes the Linux desktop with no hour meter.
  • No auto-renewal; a new plan starts after the current one, so no days are lost.6

Transaction history

Every charge and top-up shows in “Wallet” as its own line: the session and its minutes, plans, codes and the welcome credit.

Sources for these numbers

  1. Payment status as served by RooF today: the card gateway is not live yet; top-up is by code
  2. The RooF server bills each started minute: the hourly price divided by 60; billing stops when the session ends
  3. RooF server: a paid session needs balance for at least 2 minutes to start, and it ends if the balance runs out
  4. RooF server: without a plan one paid computer runs at a time; with a plan, the plan’s device count
  5. Welcome credit the RooF server adds once to every new account
  6. RooF server: a new plan starts when the current one ends, and nothing renews automatically
